Task 8.5 reproduced bug-857 on the pre-change behavior and confirmed it no longer occurs; task 8.6's live chaotic multi-kill soak (2026-07-29) confirmed zero materialized-state/config divergence after a config upgrade. bug-857 closed as a result.",

"bug-1471 / bug-1472-remainder: a host admin-closed before the final checkpoint can produce host-frame byte divergence (WAL_WORKER_CTRL apply path, worker.c/persist.c) -- explicitly out of this spec's own materialization boundary per its research.md/tasks.md notes, never converted into a task here. No existing spec currently owns fixing it; flagged for a new task/spec."
