6ea89569fa feat(raft-log-replication): init leader progress on becoming leader (task 2.2)
next_index[j]=log_len+1, match_index[j]=0 for every peer at both win paths
(single-node RAFT_ELECTED_IMMEDIATELY in raft_start_election; multi-node
RAFT_BECAME_LEADER in raft_on_vote_reply) via shared raft_init_leader_progress
helper (raft.tla BecomeLeader, Req 3.1). Suite green under ASAN.

d70f2507c3 feat(raft-log-replication): require 4 log callbacks in raft_init + sim log backing (tasks 2.1, 8.1)
2.1: raft_init returns -EINVAL when any of on_persist_entry/on_get_entry_term/
on_send_append_entries/on_truncate_from is NULL (Req 7.1-7.4), before any write
to *s; restores s->log_len = cfg->initial_log_len (Req 1.1).

8.1: raft_sim gains a per-node in-memory log (term+bytes per 1-based index) and
an AE buffer queue; wires all four callbacks (persist/get-term/truncate/send).
Pulled forward to land with 2.1 so the stricter init does not leave the
sim/proto suite red between tasks. AE delivery deferred to 8.2.

Suite green under ASAN (Ok:1 Fail:0).

7b6cbb8e3e fix(test): sync test_config DEFAULT_SYNC_TIMEOUT_MS assertion to 500
Commit ca1d9ae raised the commit-barrier default 50->500ms in config.h
but left test_config.c asserting ==50, leaving test_persistence_constants
failing on HEAD. Sync the assertion to the committed constant.

Unrelated to raft-log-replication; fixed in isolation so the library
suite has a clean baseline for the spec's task-10.1 green gate.

20e59d0b42 checkpoint: bug-851 root cause + raft TLA+ conformance spec family
Investigation & fixes (failover committed-job loss):
- root-cause bug-851 on an owned 3-node cluster: chaotic failover causes
  silent committed-prefix divergence (WAL hdr.term always 0; two leaders
  per term; no (term,lsn) reconcile). Evidence in repro-851/ + INVESTIGATION.
- live-validated fixes 848/849/850 (recovery-on-promotion, advertise real
  applied_lsn, persist-layer contiguity guard); add waldump WAL inspector.

Specs (strict raft.tla conformance — library owns the log):
- TLA-gap-analysis.md: impl vs raft/raft.tla, gaps G1-G6.
- raft-log-replication, raft-commit-safety, raft-sim-conformance: extend
  src/lib/raft to own log/commit/verification via callbacks (specs generated,
  cross-spec review passed).
- ha-term-safety: controller-side adapter + config marker (R1-R7); design done.
- config-upgrade-snapshot: R8 descoped here (deps entity-bearing-snapshots, bug-857).
- roadmap + buglog (851/854/857) + .wolf knowledge updated.

282a82ff7e feat(ha-heartbeat-committed-propagation): add xce_ha_heartbeat_req sender (task 1.2)
Send the HA heartbeat as OP_nop + the existing HeartbeatMsg body carrying
{term, committed_lsn, committed_config_tag} (senderPriority unused). Generic
xce_nop_req untouched; C-side body support pre-existed (no typemap edit). Req 1.1
producer half. Round-trip test proves the 3 fields survive the wire; lib suite
0 failures under ASAN.

1aa0761c12 fix(libxce): xce_strerror_r global-buffer-overflow on HA error codes (utils.c)
The E_XCE_* enum (errnox.h) gained NOMASTER/REDIRECT/NOT_READY/STANDBY
(10011-10014) but xce_err_str[] still had only 10 strings + NULL, while the
bounds check used E_XCE_MAX. Formatting any of those codes ran off the array:
NOMASTER -> strncpy(NULL) deref; NOT_READY (10013, returned by ctrlstatus on a
failover-exhausted cluster) -> read 8 bytes past the 88-byte table = the ASAN
global-buffer-overflow at utils.c:335.

Fix: fill the table for all 14 codes; bound xce_strerror_r against the actual
array size + NULL (degrade to 'unknown error', never OOB); add a _Static_assert
tying the table length to E_XCE_MAX so any future enum drift fails the build.
Pre-existing foundation bug surfaced (not caused) by controller-status 6.4.

RED: test_strerror_all_xce_codes SEGV'd at utils.c:335 under ASAN; GREEN: lib
suite Ok:1 Fail:0. New tests in test_error.c cover all in-range + out-of-range codes.

80bb1d766e fix(libxce-failover): classify and propagate netio I/O errors on failover
Add io_classify_io_error and propagate endpoint/epoll errors through
endpoint_update_epoll and cbuf_get instead of swallowing them, so client
failover surfaces the real error rather than hanging. Adds netio arm-failure,
close-propagation, and request send-propagation tests.

Pre-existing uncommitted work, committed to establish a clean baseline before
ha-commit-durability implementation.

fa65e794ec fix(libxce-failover): known-dead ctx (XCE_CTX_ERR) triggers reconnect instead of surfacing -EINVAL
Live 3-node E2E revealed the reported 'Invalid argument' bug was still
reachable: after the primary dies, handle_disconnect leaves ctx.state=
XCE_CTX_ERR, so a FRESH xce_* call returns -EINVAL from the xceapi guard
before reaching a primary. The classifier mapped -EINVAL to TERMINAL, so the
loop bailed without rotating/recovering. decide() now detects the known-dead
ctx and treats it as a prompt reconnect cause (RETRY_NOW), surfacing the
distinct cluster-not-ready code on budget exhaustion, never -EINVAL.
Regression test: test_decide_known_dead_ctx_retries_not_terminal.

e6b234a6a4 test(ha-prevote): Raft safety-invariant property tests + RN-1 consistency argument (task 6.1)
Four property-style raft tests proving the PreVote API preserves the safety
invariants: term/voted_for/role never change and on_persist never fires across
mixed begin/request/reply sequences (WON and LOST); a WON round creates no leader
(stays FOLLOWER); and the real-vote higher-term-adopt + step-down + quorum-elect
path is unchanged (bug-339/340 intact). Records the TLA+/checklist consistency
argument (RN-1) in test_raft.c and research.md, citing the tests as evidence.
Raft suite 123/0/0; zero production change.

646aa69aa8 fix(controller): set c->running in cluster_run so HA primary streams joblist/workerlist
cluster_start (which set c->running) is orphaned on the HA myapp_run path, so
the running flag was never set on HA nodes — check_controller() treated the
primary as shutting down and zeroed joblist/workerlist reply chunks. Own the
flag lifecycle in cluster_run, symmetric with the c->running=0 on shutdown.

9821ec4f3c fix(ha): election-safety hardening — vote gates, restored-vote term, freshness source
Election protocol fixes validated against raft.tla invariants:

- ha_init_raft(): one-time raft state init at startup (re-init would lose
  durable election progress); n_peers = full cluster size including self
- handle_request_vote(): higher-term step-down moved BEFORE the role gate
  (split-brain fix); standby vote-deny now requires a live primary control
  channel (primary_ctrl_fd >= 0) AND a fresh heartbeat
- ha_heartbeat_is_fresh(): derive freshness from ha->last_activity (the
  field production actually writes); the orphaned last_heartbeat timespec
  had no production writer, leaving the vote-deny gate inert (bug-337);
  field removed from ha_state_t
- handle_request_vote(): restore same-candidate idempotent re-grant —
  deny only a DIFFERENT candidate in the same term, matching raft.c and
  Raft §5.2 votedFor ∈ {Nil, candidateId} (bug-338)
- raft_init(): restore voted_for_term alongside a persisted vote; leaving
  it 0 allowed a double vote in the same term across a restart (bug-339)
- myapp_run(): leader_known check treats a vote recorded under this node's
  own name as a self-vote — production persists the real candidate name,
  the "self" placeholder only appears in test mode
- raft_on_vote_request(): leader steps down on higher-term vote request
  instead of denying it

Tests: test_proto_H6_restored_vote_blocks_second_vote added; H1 restore
assertion strengthened; test_ha_vote_gate.c driven through last_activity +
primary_ctrl_fd (the real production fields). Full /xce-build all green
(lib + controller + scheduler + Go suites, 0 failures, ASAN clean).

deploy-ha.sh: start.sh now forwards extra args to the controller binary.

c3caab49a6 feat(election-iomgr-refactor): add on_connected fire-once callback to endpoint_t
Add void (*on_connected)(endpoint_t *ep) field to endpoint_t with
endpoint_set_on_connected() helper. io_handler fires it exactly once
immediately after ssl_handshake_done=1 then nulls the pointer.

Enables ha_start_election_async to send OP_requestVote as soon as
the TLS handshake with a peer completes — no blocking SSL_connect.

6 new unit tests pass; controller suite 1/1 OK.

delay_task_t with nextrun_ts field; delay_worker distinguishes
ms-tasks from second-tasks via non-zero nextrun_ts. Backward
compatible with existing delay_task callers.

4 delay tests pass (2 new: tolerance and invalid-args).
Provides the timeout primitive for election and committing watchdogs.

450a4d467c fix: sel_key_cmp_fn padding-byte mismatch in kvtab lookups
sel_key_cmp_fn compared keys with memcmp on the whole sel_node_key_t
struct, including the 4-byte padding between type and op1. The stack-
allocated search key in gc_sweep_select_nodes can have different padding
bytes than the heap-allocated copy stored by key_add, causing key_del
to miss the entry and leave a dangling pointer in the CSE intern table.

Replace memcmp with field-by-field comparison on type, op1, op2.

Also fix GC sweep tests that asserted pointer inequality after re-intern:
calloc may lawfully reuse the freed address, so pointer inequality does
not reliably indicate a successful sweep. Track the swept node's
node_id before freeing and assert the re-interned node gets a fresh id.

fd9cfce1c1 feat: P2.5-5/6 add --peers/--ca-cert parsing to worker+scheduler with validation
Worker (P2.5-5):
- Added parse_peers() static helper to src/worker/src/main.c
- Switched getopt to getopt_long to support --peers and --ca-cert long options
- When --peers is given: parses into xce_cluster_config_t, calls
  xce_cluster_config_validate(), logs INFO with candidate count/identity/ca_cert
- If validation fails: prints clear error and exits(1)
- WARN logged when candidates_count > 3
- Backward compatible: no --peers falls back to existing single-controller path

Scheduler (P2.5-6):
- Added parse_peers() static helper to src/scheduler/src/main.c
- Extended argp struct with --peers (-P) and --ca-cert (-C) options
- Same validation/logging pattern as worker
- Backward compatible: no --peers falls back to existing single-controller path

Tests (new):
- src/lib/testsuite/test_cluster_parse.c: 8 unit tests for parse_peers logic
  (single entry, multiple entries, no-name format, empty/null/missing-port errors,
  name-stripped correctly, MAX_HA_CANDIDATES cap respected)
- Registered in test.c and meson.build
- All 8 tests GREEN; 3 pre-existing failures in unrelated GC/CSE tests unchanged

0c11989da7 feat: P2.5-1/2/2a/3/8 xce_cluster_config_t, xce_connect_cluster, xce_reconnect_step
Add libxce cluster discovery and auto-reconnect state machine:

- src/include/xce/cluster.h: xce_candidate_t, xce_cluster_config_t,
  xce_reconnect_ctx_t types; full API with test-seam hook
  xce_cluster_set_connect_fn()
- src/lib/cluster.c: xce_cluster_config_validate() (rejects invalid
  candidate counts, empty hostname/port, missing identity/ca_cert),
  xce_connect_cluster() (candidate fallback with single sweep),
  xce_reconnect_step() state machine (IDLE→CONNECTING→CONNECTED,
  with exponential backoff; nanosleep skipped when mock is active)
- src/lib/meson.build: add cluster.c to libxce_src and
  test_cluster.c to libxce_test_src (P2.5-2a)
- src/lib/testsuite/test_cluster.c: 9 TDD tests covering validation,
  first-candidate success, fallback, all-fail NULL return, reconnect
  to CONNECTED, and backoff state transition (P2.5-8)

All 9 cluster tests pass; 3 pre-existing unrelated failures unchanged.
