The buglog was one 27K-line JSON file whose fields covered only symptom,
root cause and fix, as free text: 2% of entries named the code version a
bug was found on, 12% the build profile, 36% a way to reproduce, and 58% of
the file was OpenWolf hook auto-detections ("Missing guard clause",
"Function not marked async" on .md files).
- .claude/skills/buglog/bug-record.md: the record standard. Eight
sections (Summary as the title, Description, Environment, Reproduction;
Root cause, Fix, Verification, References once fixed), each with the
content it must contain -- e.g. Environment needs the OS, the libc the
failing binary loads (from its ELF interpreter: glibc 2.42 in the nix
shell vs 2.40 on the host), toolchain, build profile and commit.
- .wolf/bugs/<id>.md: 500 records migrated from buglog.json; every field
verified to round-trip. They carry legacy: true and an explicit "not
recorded" where the old log had no such field; component derived from
file paths, severity from keywords (else unknown), fix_commits from
hashes in status_note/fix that git resolves (91 of 463 fixed).
- .wolf/buglog-archive.json: the 710 hook auto-detections, verbatim.
- .wolf/buglog.json is now an index generated from the records, keeping
the fields OpenWolf's hooks and `openwolf bug search` read.
- scripts/buglog.py rewritten: new (template + Environment collected from
the machine and --binary), check, status (refuses a status the record
doesn't support; fixed needs Root cause, Fix, Verification and
--commit hashes git resolves), note, recur, set, show, list, triage,
env, index. 29 unittest cases in scripts/tests/test_buglog.py.
- scripts/git-hooks/pre-commit runs `check --staged`: incomplete staged
records, a legacy record hand-changed to fixed without the fix-time
sections, a new record claiming legacy: true, or a stale index refuse
the commit.
- scripts/gitea-sync.py reads the records: issue body = the record's
sections plus linked fix commits (origin remote, GITEA_COMMIT_REPO to
override), and a body hash so an issue's text is refreshed when the
record changes.
- bug-1866 rewritten to the full standard as the worked example.

bug-1492: plugin_end_session() checks plugin->begin_session_fn != NULL but calls…
Description
plugin_end_session() checks plugin->begin_session_fn != NULL but calls plugin->end_session_fn(plugin) -- a guard/call field mismatch
Environment
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Reproduction
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Root cause
Pre-existing bug predating the scheduler-core spec (git blame: commit 638173dec, 2026-02-26). plugin_end_session()'s per-plugin loop guards on the wrong struct field before invoking the hook, so a plugin registering only end_session_fn (not begin_session_fn) never has it called; a plugin registering only begin_session_fn (not end_session_fn) would crash via a NULL function-pointer call if this branch were ever reached for it. Discovered incidentally during scheduler-core task 5.2's independent review while verifying the plugin_begin_session/plugin_end_session per-session bookkeeping fan-out is preserved in the new normal-mode driver loop -- not introduced by task 5.2, confirmed untouched by its diff.
Fix
FIXED (2026-09-19, /xce-audit-invariants scheduler dimension-1 audit, following scheduler-sim-live-allocation). Changed plugin_end_session()'s guard from plugin->begin_session_fn != NULL to plugin->end_session_fn != NULL (src/scheduler/src/plugin.c) -- exactly the one-line fix this entry originally proposed. Confirmed via TDD: added test_end_session_invokes_end_session_fn_when_only_it_is_set() (test_plugin_hook_dispatch.c) registering a plugin with ONLY end_session_fn set, proving it was silently never invoked before the fix (RED, 84/85) and is now correctly invoked (GREEN, 85/85). Duplicate of bug-1682 (same defect, independently re-discovered and re-logged during bug-1681's fix, 2026-08-24) -- this entry (bug-1492, filed 2026-08-04) is the original. Note: this entry's own tags array had been incorrectly stamped "fixed"/"closed-by-scheduler-sim-live-allocation" ahead of the actual fix landing (a bulk-tagging error found by this same audit) -- now genuinely accurate.
Verification
