The buglog was one 27K-line JSON file whose fields covered only symptom,
root cause and fix, as free text: 2% of entries named the code version a
bug was found on, 12% the build profile, 36% a way to reproduce, and 58% of
the file was OpenWolf hook auto-detections ("Missing guard clause",
"Function not marked async" on .md files).
- .claude/skills/buglog/bug-record.md: the record standard. Eight
sections (Summary as the title, Description, Environment, Reproduction;
Root cause, Fix, Verification, References once fixed), each with the
content it must contain -- e.g. Environment needs the OS, the libc the
failing binary loads (from its ELF interpreter: glibc 2.42 in the nix
shell vs 2.40 on the host), toolchain, build profile and commit.
- .wolf/bugs/<id>.md: 500 records migrated from buglog.json; every field
verified to round-trip. They carry legacy: true and an explicit "not
recorded" where the old log had no such field; component derived from
file paths, severity from keywords (else unknown), fix_commits from
hashes in status_note/fix that git resolves (91 of 463 fixed).
- .wolf/buglog-archive.json: the 710 hook auto-detections, verbatim.
- .wolf/buglog.json is now an index generated from the records, keeping
the fields OpenWolf's hooks and `openwolf bug search` read.
- scripts/buglog.py rewritten: new (template + Environment collected from
the machine and --binary), check, status (refuses a status the record
doesn't support; fixed needs Root cause, Fix, Verification and
--commit hashes git resolves), note, recur, set, show, list, triage,
env, index. 29 unittest cases in scripts/tests/test_buglog.py.
- scripts/git-hooks/pre-commit runs `check --staged`: incomplete staged
records, a legacy record hand-changed to fixed without the fix-time
sections, a new record claiming legacy: true, or a stale index refuse
the commit.
- scripts/gitea-sync.py reads the records: issue body = the record's
sections plus linked fix commits (origin remote, GITEA_COMMIT_REPO to
override), and a body hash so an issue's text is refreshed when the
record changes.
- bug-1866 rewritten to the full standard as the worked example.

# bug-1774: gap discovered during design review for the resreq-maxtasks-wiring spec, sibling to bug-1772…
## Description
OPEN, NOT A CRASH, DEAD-CODE-ONLY -- pre-existing gap discovered during design review for the resreq-maxtasks-wiring spec, sibling to bug-1772, CORRECTED 2026-09-05: this entry originally claimed make_sched_job()'s ingest path was "confirmed live, not legacy" -- that claim was WRONG and has been retracted (see root_cause). make_primary_schedobj() (src/scheduler/src/schedobj.c:45-63, backing make_sched_job()) never computes primary->resreq_fp, unlike core_build_primary_schedobj() (src/scheduler/src/core_events.c:130-135) which sets resreq_fp.min_tasks/max_tasks/select_node_id/rusage_hash from the parsed xce_primary_resreq_t immediately after parsing -- but make_sched_job() itself is unreachable in production today (see root_cause), so this gap currently has ZERO live impact.

## Reproduction
_Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json)._
## Root cause
CONFIRMED via direct code read that make_primary_schedobj() calloc's the primary schedobj and leaves resreq_fp all-zero, with no equivalent computation anywhere in the function -- identical failure shape to bug-1772 (snapshot_load.c's snapshot_build_primary_schedobj() has the same gap), a third instance of the recurring schedobj-reconstruction-duplication pattern already tracked by bug-1767. HOWEVER, independently re-verified 2026-09-05 (two separate investigations, exhaustive grep of every call site of sched_update(), sched_update_jobs(), and make_sched_job() across src/ outside testsuite/): sched_update(xce_scheduler_t*) (scheduler.c:1200) has ZERO live callers anywhere in this codebase -- only its own declaration/definition and doc-comments describing it as dead/superseded exist (matching bug-1740's already-established finding for the sibling sched_apply_job_rusage() case, same root architecture). sched_update_jobs() (scheduler.c:1109) is called only from inside sched_update()'s switch, and make_sched_job() (schedobj.c:153) is called only from sched_update_jobs() -- so the ENTIRE chain is unreachable in production. The real, live production job-ingest paths are exactly two: core_build_job() (core_events.c, fresh submission via the driver-translated XCE_CORE_EVENT_JOBS_PUSH path) and snapshot_load.c's restore path -- both confirmed live by the same grep rigor. This entry's original "confirmed live, not legacy" parenthetical was an unverified, incorrect aside and is hereby retracted; make_sched_job()'s resreq_fp gap is real but currently dead-code-only, with no production consequence unless/until something makes this path reachable again.
## Fix
NOT FIXED, and NOT CURRENTLY WORTH FIXING given zero live impact -- discovered during resreq-maxtasks-wiring's design review (2026-09-05), corrected same day once the dead-code status was established. resreq-maxtasks-wiring's own Requirement 5.4 does NOT need an exception for this path (it can be excluded from consideration entirely, not merely excluded-and-documented, since it never ingests any real job) -- that spec's actual Req 5.4 exception is for bug-1772's snapshot-restore gap, which IS live. If make_sched_job()'s dead code path is ever revived or repurposed in a future change, revisit this fix then: add the same resreq_fp computation core_build_primary_schedobj() does to make_primary_schedobj(), or better, per bug-1767's broader recommended remediation, share one real schedobj-construction implementation across all three call sites instead of maintaining three independent, drift-prone copies (two live, one dead).
