The buglog was one 27K-line JSON file whose fields covered only symptom,
root cause and fix, as free text: 2% of entries named the code version a
bug was found on, 12% the build profile, 36% a way to reproduce, and 58% of
the file was OpenWolf hook auto-detections ("Missing guard clause",
"Function not marked async" on .md files).
- .claude/skills/buglog/bug-record.md: the record standard. Eight
sections (Summary as the title, Description, Environment, Reproduction;
Root cause, Fix, Verification, References once fixed), each with the
content it must contain -- e.g. Environment needs the OS, the libc the
failing binary loads (from its ELF interpreter: glibc 2.42 in the nix
shell vs 2.40 on the host), toolchain, build profile and commit.
- .wolf/bugs/<id>.md: 500 records migrated from buglog.json; every field
verified to round-trip. They carry legacy: true and an explicit "not
recorded" where the old log had no such field; component derived from
file paths, severity from keywords (else unknown), fix_commits from
hashes in status_note/fix that git resolves (91 of 463 fixed).
- .wolf/buglog-archive.json: the 710 hook auto-detections, verbatim.
- .wolf/buglog.json is now an index generated from the records, keeping
the fields OpenWolf's hooks and `openwolf bug search` read.
- scripts/buglog.py rewritten: new (template + Environment collected from
the machine and --binary), check, status (refuses a status the record
doesn't support; fixed needs Root cause, Fix, Verification and
--commit hashes git resolves), note, recur, set, show, list, triage,
env, index. 29 unittest cases in scripts/tests/test_buglog.py.
- scripts/git-hooks/pre-commit runs `check --staged`: incomplete staged
records, a legacy record hand-changed to fixed without the fix-time
sections, a new record claiming legacy: true, or a stale index refuse
the commit.
- scripts/gitea-sync.py reads the records: issue body = the record's
sections plus linked fix commits (origin remote, GITEA_COMMIT_REPO to
override), and a body hash so an issue's text is refreshed when the
record changes.
- bug-1866 rewritten to the full standard as the worked example.

bug-828-part2: Clean failover still truncates committed jobs: new primary logs 'safe_committed_lsn=1 (from 2…
Description
Clean failover still truncates committed jobs: new primary logs 'safe_committed_lsn=1 (from 2 granted voters)' and walcompare reports committed-prefix DIVERGENCE at LSN 2; jobs at LSN 2..5 lost.
Environment
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Reproduction
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Root cause
INVESTIGATED, NOT an advertisement-staleness bug. The advertise path already reflects the live durable tip: ha_candidate_advertise_lsn -> persist_durable_floor, and the voter floor = max(persist_durable_floor, learned_committed); persist_durable_floor == persist_durable_lsn (both read p->durable_lsn, the fsync watermark), and part-1's secondary fix advances durable_lsn after the standby's inline fdatasync in persist_wal_write_replicated. LIVE evidence (fix828c_r1..r3, STRICT_TERM clean failover x3) proves the surviving voters advertise 1 because they are GENUINELY durable only at LSN 1: their WAL physically holds 1..2 (LSN2 = their own term-3 NOOP), recovered tip=2, durable_floor=1. The original primary ctrl-1 (down at election time, WAL 1..5 tip=5) advanced committed_lsn 1->2->3->4->5 in ~250ms while standbys had only converged applied_lsn=1 and catch-up streaming was still in flight. So committed advanced past what the surviving majority durably held — the UPSTREAM replication / commit-barrier durability gap (bug-795/661), not the vote advertisement. safe_committed_lsn=1 is the CORRECT, SAFE Raft answer given the real durable state; advertising the true durable tip cannot conjure data never replicated.
Fix
No production code change required for part-2 — the durable-tip advertisement is already correct & safe after part-1. Added unit test test_live_durable_tip_advertised_over_lagging_learned (test_ha_vote_gate.c): a standby durable at LSN5 (real persist, flush -> durable_lsn=5) with learned_committed lagging at 1 must advertise 5 as BOTH candidate self-LSN (ha_candidate_advertise_lsn) and voter floor (ha_vote_self_freshness over persist_durable_floor, dominating learned=1), and ha_compute_safe_committed_lsn from two such granting voters must return 5 — locking in the in-scope contract. Explicitly did NOT fold learned_committed into the CANDIDATE advertise (the requested max(...,learned_committed)) because that re-opens the truncated-candidate-over-advertises-and-wins hole ha-commit-durability task 4.2 deliberately closed (candidate must advertise only a DURABLE position; learned_committed is volatile/not necessarily durable on this node). The residual live job loss is bug-795/661, out of scope.
