The buglog was one 27K-line JSON file whose fields covered only symptom,
root cause and fix, as free text: 2% of entries named the code version a
bug was found on, 12% the build profile, 36% a way to reproduce, and 58% of
the file was OpenWolf hook auto-detections ("Missing guard clause",
"Function not marked async" on .md files).
- .claude/skills/buglog/bug-record.md: the record standard. Eight
sections (Summary as the title, Description, Environment, Reproduction;
Root cause, Fix, Verification, References once fixed), each with the
content it must contain -- e.g. Environment needs the OS, the libc the
failing binary loads (from its ELF interpreter: glibc 2.42 in the nix
shell vs 2.40 on the host), toolchain, build profile and commit.
- .wolf/bugs/<id>.md: 500 records migrated from buglog.json; every field
verified to round-trip. They carry legacy: true and an explicit "not
recorded" where the old log had no such field; component derived from
file paths, severity from keywords (else unknown), fix_commits from
hashes in status_note/fix that git resolves (91 of 463 fixed).
- .wolf/buglog-archive.json: the 710 hook auto-detections, verbatim.
- .wolf/buglog.json is now an index generated from the records, keeping
the fields OpenWolf's hooks and `openwolf bug search` read.
- scripts/buglog.py rewritten: new (template + Environment collected from
the machine and --binary), check, status (refuses a status the record
doesn't support; fixed needs Root cause, Fix, Verification and
--commit hashes git resolves), note, recur, set, show, list, triage,
env, index. 29 unittest cases in scripts/tests/test_buglog.py.
- scripts/git-hooks/pre-commit runs `check --staged`: incomplete staged
records, a legacy record hand-changed to fixed without the fix-time
sections, a new record claiming legacy: true, or a stale index refuse
the commit.
- scripts/gitea-sync.py reads the records: issue body = the record's
sections plus linked fix commits (origin remote, GITEA_COMMIT_REPO to
override), and a body hash so an issue's text is refreshed when the
record changes.
- bug-1866 rewritten to the full standard as the worked example.

bug-1673: Gitea issue #40 ("job 调度不正确"): xcecli hosts list shows MAX_SLOT=0 for a dynamically-joined…
Description
Gitea issue #40 ("job 调度不正确"): xcecli hosts list shows MAX_SLOT=0 for a dynamically-joined worker even though the host's real NCPUS (e.g. 16 or 22) is correctly reported and scheduling correctly dispatches up to that many concurrent jobs. Reproduced live on branch scheduler-framework: single-node deploy, worker joined as 'worker-1', xcecli hosts list -> NCPUS=22 MAX_SLOT=0. Submitted 9 single-slot sleep jobs -- all 9 eventually dispatched and ran (no hard cap observed under this test), so the reporter's secondary claim of a hard ~8-job concurrency ceiling did NOT reproduce here (most likely a mid-dispatch snapshot, dispatch is not instantaneous across all pending jobs on this branch; a queue/usergroup slot limit in limits.yaml, e.g. ug1_normal_slots=8, remains a plausible alternate explanation worth asking the original reporter about). Only the MAX_SLOT=0 display value itself is a confirmed, reproducible bug.
Environment
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Reproduction
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Root cause
OnHostConfigUpdated() (handler.go:60-70) only applies config-pushed fields (including MaxSlot) onto a host entry via store.Hosts.Get(incoming.HostName) -- an EXACT hostname match. hosts.yaml commonly defines only a wildcard hostname: default entry (plus a couple of literally-named ones, e.g. worker2/host3) -- confirmed via grep, no entry named after the actual dynamically-joined worker (e.g. 'worker-1'). So a worker that joins under its own hostname never receives a HostConfig push under that literal name, store.Hosts.Get() misses, OnHostConfigUpdated returns early, and MaxSlot is left at Go's zero-value (0) forever -- completely decoupled from the value actually used for scheduling. The C-side path is correct: worker.c's apply_join_state()/find_matched_hostconfig() falls back to the 'default' wildcard entry's mxj/maxcpus for real dispatch decisions, confirmed via a live controller log line showing the correct slots=22 resource value. This is purely a Go apiserver display gap, not a scheduling defect.
Fix
FIXED (2026-08-24). src/frontend/apiserver/backend/handler.go -- OnHostConfigUpdated now caches the "default" pseudo-host's config-sourced fields (defaultHostConfig, package-level, mutex-guarded) instead of discarding them, and retroactively backfills that fallback onto any already-registered host with no explicit (non-default) config of its own; OnHostUpdated applies the same fallback immediately on a host's first-ever registration. The HOSTCONFIG_MXJ_AUTO_DETECT -1 sentinel (bug-1556) is further resolved to the host's real NumCPUs when applied via fallback, mirroring worker.c's C-side if (nslots<0) nslots = maxcpus. A host with its own real per-host hosts.yaml entry is never overridden. Added resetHostConfigCache() test hook plus 5 new tests (both arrival orderings, no-override-of-explicit-config, unresolvable-stays-negative) -- all pass, plus all 3 pre-existing OnHostConfigUpdated/OnHostUpdated tests pass unmodified (make test-backend). Live-verified: xcecli hosts list for the dynamically-joined worker-1 (no hosts.yaml entry) now shows MAX_SLOT=22, matching NCPUS=22, instead of 0.
Verification
