The buglog was one 27K-line JSON file whose fields covered only symptom,
root cause and fix, as free text: 2% of entries named the code version a
bug was found on, 12% the build profile, 36% a way to reproduce, and 58% of
the file was OpenWolf hook auto-detections ("Missing guard clause",
"Function not marked async" on .md files).
- .claude/skills/buglog/bug-record.md: the record standard. Eight
sections (Summary as the title, Description, Environment, Reproduction;
Root cause, Fix, Verification, References once fixed), each with the
content it must contain -- e.g. Environment needs the OS, the libc the
failing binary loads (from its ELF interpreter: glibc 2.42 in the nix
shell vs 2.40 on the host), toolchain, build profile and commit.
- .wolf/bugs/<id>.md: 500 records migrated from buglog.json; every field
verified to round-trip. They carry legacy: true and an explicit "not
recorded" where the old log had no such field; component derived from
file paths, severity from keywords (else unknown), fix_commits from
hashes in status_note/fix that git resolves (91 of 463 fixed).
- .wolf/buglog-archive.json: the 710 hook auto-detections, verbatim.
- .wolf/buglog.json is now an index generated from the records, keeping
the fields OpenWolf's hooks and `openwolf bug search` read.
- scripts/buglog.py rewritten: new (template + Environment collected from
the machine and --binary), check, status (refuses a status the record
doesn't support; fixed needs Root cause, Fix, Verification and
--commit hashes git resolves), note, recur, set, show, list, triage,
env, index. 29 unittest cases in scripts/tests/test_buglog.py.
- scripts/git-hooks/pre-commit runs `check --staged`: incomplete staged
records, a legacy record hand-changed to fixed without the fix-time
sections, a new record claiming legacy: true, or a stale index refuse
the commit.
- scripts/gitea-sync.py reads the records: issue body = the record's
sections plus linked fix commits (origin remote, GITEA_COMMIT_REPO to
override), and a body hash so an issue's text is refreshed when the
record changes.
- bug-1866 rewritten to the full standard as the worked example.

bug-1725: After bug-1724's fix made…
Description
After bug-1724's fix made test_live_config_push_against_standby_returns_standby_rejection_not_redirect actually execute (previously always skipped), it FAILED for real: pushing config to a standby now redirects to the primary and succeeds, contradicting the test's own hard-coded 'standby flatly rejects, no redirect' assertions. Separately, the rewritten success-path test's reused _assert_primary_committed() helper intermittently failed its 4th assertion ('config activated from committed marker tag=...' not found in the primary's log immediately after the push CLI returned success).
Environment
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Reproduction
Not recorded (migrated from buglog.json).
Root cause
(1) The test's assumption was stale, not wrong test infra: bug-1700/1701 (fixed 2026-08-26) closed the exact standby-redirect gap this test was written to regression-lock, at the generic ha_dispatch_gate() rejection level in cluster.c -- the test's own docstring had explicitly predicted this exact failure as the correct signal to replace it with a success-path assertion. design.md ('Boundary Commitments'/'Revalidation Triggers') and roadmap.md still described the gap as open. (2) config_activate_committed() on the primary runs off the WAL apply-pump dispatch (persist.c ~5111, the bug-1469 fix), asynchronously relative to the majority-ack-gated client reply (commitIndex vs lastApplied are distinct steps) -- the CLI can legitimately return success before the primary's own local apply of that marker has logged its activation line, a latent race in the existing single-shot log read shared by the direct-to-primary test too.
Fix
Renamed and rewrote the test as test_live_config_push_against_standby_redirects_and_succeeds, asserting the redirect line IS present and the push succeeds (same success bar as the direct-to-primary test: positive ackedCount, exit 0, primary commit evidence). Updated the module docstring, design.md (Boundary Commitments, Revalidation Triggers, sequence-diagram note, redirect-implementation rationale, Testing Strategy), and roadmap.md's corresponding item to describe the gap as closed instead of open -- also corrected an adjacent, independently-verified stale claim (bug-1468, fixed 2026-07-25, already resolved but never reflected in design.md) that no controller role could reach the upgradeConfig handler at all. For the activation race, changed _assert_primary_committed() from a single-shot log_text argument to a Path-based helper that polls (up to 5s, 0.2s interval) for the activation line instead of assuming synchronous ordering, and updated both call sites. Verified end-to-end: full xce-build.sh xceadmin run now passes 288/288 with zero skips/failures.
